THE best Paralympic powerlifters in the country are preparing for action at London 2012, with the first of our five athletes competing on Thursday, August 30.
Former world record holder Anthony Peddle lifts in the -48kg class at 3pm on August 30, and will be competing in his seventh Paralympic Games, while former World Junior Champion Zoe Newson competes in the -40kg class on Aug 30 at 6pm.
Friday sees former European and World Junior Champion Ali Jawad compete in the -56kg class at 6pm – an appearance which will be his second after competing at Beijing.
And Saturday is the last day for Paralympics GB’s powerlifters.
Up first on that day is Newark’s Natalie Blake, who will be competing in her fourth Games in the -52kg class. Finally, Manchester’s Jason Irving competes in the -60kg class at 6pm.
