Talent Squad
The existing talent squad supports young athletes who have experience of weightlifting through their schools and/or clubs who have the physical and psychological attributes which give them the potential to develop into elite weightlifters. Athletes in this squad must demonstrate both commitment and progression and are normally expected to reach the Podium-Potential Squad Standard within 2 years.
Talent Confirmation Squad
The talent confirmation squad is for new lifters who have normally started lifting within the last 12 months and are felt to have the physical and psychological attributes to progress to eventually medal for Great Britain at a Paralympic Games. These athletes are expected to progress quickly into the Talent Squad
